BPC-157
Body Protective Compound-157 · Pentadecapeptide
A 15-amino-acid peptide fragment derived from human gastric juice protein. Commonly studied for tissue repair, wound healing, and gastrointestinal health. Available from ManaWell Research in 5mg vials.
What BPC-157 does — and how it works
BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide derived from a protein naturally found in human gastric juice. The “157” refers to the specific 15-amino-acid sequence isolated and studied for research. It doesn’t occur freely in the body at meaningful concentrations.
Research interest centers on its apparent ability to accelerate tissue repair across multiple injury types — with effects appearing systemic even when administered away from the injury site.
What researchers study it for
| Area | What studies look at | Evidence | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🦴 | Tendon & ligament repair | Healing speed in Achilles tendon models; collagen organization and tensile strength recovery | Animal |
| 💪 | Muscle repair | Recovery from crush injuries and surgical trauma in rodent models | Animal |
| 🫀 | Gut & GI health | Gastric lining protection; colitis, fistula, and NSAID-induced gut damage models | Animal + limited human |
| 🦷 | Bone healing | Fracture repair and bone-to-tendon junction healing in rodent models | Animal |
| 🧠 | Neuroprotection | Nerve damage repair and traumatic brain injury recovery in rodent studies | Preliminary |
| 🩸 | Blood vessel growth | New blood vessel formation at injury sites | Animal |
Most BPC-157 research has been conducted in rodent models. Human clinical trial data remains limited.
How it works
No single mechanism fully explains the observed effects. Mechanistic research is ongoing.
How to reconstitute BPC-157
BPC-157 comes as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Select your vial size below — we’ll show you exactly how much BAC water to add and what your concentrations will be.
Step-by-step
- Gather supplies: BPC-157 vial, BAC water, insulin syringe (28–31 gauge), alcohol swabs.
- Swab both vial tops with separate swabs. Let air dry 10–15 seconds.
- Draw the BAC water into the syringe.
- Inject slowly down the glass wall — don’t hit the powder directly.
- Swirl gently until fully dissolved. Solution should be clear and colorless.
- Label with date and refrigerate immediately at 2–8°C.
Common research frameworks
BPC-157 is typically dosed daily at a flat amount — no ramp-up or titration needed. Most research uses a consistent once or twice daily schedule for the duration of the cycle.
| Schedule | Dose | Frequency | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 250–500mcg | Once daily | Most commonly referenced in the literature. |
| Split-dose | 125–250mcg x2 | Twice daily | Morning and evening for consistent levels. |
| Low-dose | 100–200mcg | Once daily | Extended lower-dose approach, 8–16 weeks. |
All figures are derived from research literature. Not clinical recommendations.
